   "We realize there are a lot of folks who now want to be independent and we respect that," said American Party National Chairman Arly Pederson. "However, there are those who want to field candidates and put ballot issues up before the citizens and that requires an organization.

  The American Party has been organized several times before in Texas, however, the previous groups bear little to no resembelance to the current organization.

  "We really look more like the teaparty groups you now see across the country," siad national committeeman Barry Foster. "In Texas, that means citizens now have an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a group looking to restore the provisions of the Constitution and the vision of our founding fathers.
